I would really like to see a video on how your lifestyle habits affects your skin. Please Natalie make a video on this topic.

As far as I know the prevailing theory of type one diabetes is that an autoimmune reaction to a virus wipes out the beta (insulin secreting cells) of the pancreas during early childhood. The person then usually has no ability to produce insulin. There actually have been genes found to predispose type 2 diabetes, but also other factors such as diet and obesity. It is really a complex disease that a lot is still not known about. It does seem that insulin resistance plays the major role.

There are two types of diabetes. Type 1 can be genetic and the person has it from birth. Type 2 is developed, is not genetic has been scientifically linked to too much sugar.

Then how do you explain the fact that diabetes is genetic and does not occur from eating too much sugar?
igirisuXjin (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I don't get affected by sugar at all but then again I've never felt the NEED to eat sugar. I do that whole eating 4 packets of bicuits in one day thing but it never really effects me afterwards. I never have to worry about gaining weight either 'cause my body won't let me gain weight...

Wow this video really puts things in proper perspective. I have read articles on the symptoms of diabetes and never fully understood it. I have a good handle on it now.Thank you for the great, informative and easy to understand video. I am going to share this with my children.
